Death or Glory
After Paris “Premiere”, “Boloss” contest and Brussels “c’est la Merckx”
Our friends from Rotterdam are organizing the “Death or Glory” contest
here what’s Roy have to say:
The idea is to host a trickjam which is focussed on Fixed Gear Freestyle. But please, if you want, bring your board or BMX as well if you want, cause the skatepark and Rotterdam the city itself is def worth riding on either of the aforementioned.
We hope everybody will have fun riding with friends, making new friends and hopefully will leave a good memory to get you through the winter. It’s a big risk planning a trickjam in an outdoor skatepark begin/mid October. We do however have a backup plan of an indoor skatepark (wood) within 15min by bike from the Skateplaza. But we hope we don’t need that option, cause this needs be an outside event.
Therefor “Death or Glory” is a more than appropriate name for the event. It’s either dry and nice or wet and cold.
This could possibly be the last event where we’ll all meet again before getting into our winter hibernation.
death or glory
Though it is a trickjam, we will do some small contests on the fly. The park is too wide spread to even be judged, so please, use the whole park, ride those tripple slanted wallrides till death and grind your axles to shit and jump wheels in half from the big stairs… There’s something for everyone…
There’s a big basketball court (not just a small one, a double or triple sized basketball court) which can be used for flatland riding as well.
No big prizes can be won, it’s all about having good fun, seeing your foreign friends and making some new friends. Most of us all know each other already (national or international).
We do however have some goodies up our sleeves for the small contests we do on the fly.
Enough of this explaining bullshit… you all know what this shit is about!
See you all on 10-10-10 ! ”

Paris Premiere Contest edit from Sho Kosughi on Vimeo.

Here is an edit of the “Premiere” Street Tricks Contest on Paris by Sho, (I think in Europe? Am I wrong?)
This Sunday afternoon in Paris was apocalyptic, we arrived too early in Paris and hang out in a huge “Dawn of the dead” commercial gallery ; the rain, the burning tower just on the border of the spot, the PK ripper slashed by Yassine. But the riders really blasted the spot, and dropped really nice lines, and kept up a nice positive energy.
Roy (1st place) came from the Netherlands, this guys rocks. I really enjoyed it when he moved the all audience to an another spot during the final.  Simon (exequo 1st place) was more theatrical; he pulled off  a crescendo to the final that took him to the top.
